The Wesley School is currently accepting applications for an Upper School teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated lead teacher to join our team and support our students. Our rich academic program promotes in students the development of productive work habits and the mastery of essential academic content and skills, as well as social emotional skill building. Interdisciplinary lessons are commonly presented throughout the curriculum. Teachers design lessons that encourage our students to think creatively and work collaboratively. With a differentiated academic program, our teachers understand the importance of teaching to the needs of each individual child.
Candidate Profile:
● Demonstrates a love for teaching and working with children
● Expertise in best instructional practices
● Exhibits excellent written and oral communications skills
● Collaborates well with colleagues to promote an integrated and hands-on educational experience
● Models a growth mindset and pursues life-long learning
●Provide developmentally appropriate classroom instruction to a variety of student abilities.
●Implement service plans and accommodations/modifications for students that may have special educational needs.
Qualifications/Experience:
● Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
● 2+years of classroom teaching or experience in academic field (preferred)
● Maryland teacher certification preferred, but not required
Salary range for full-time teaching positions is $42,000-55,000, commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include health insurance (including medical, dental, and vision), 55 hours of paid time off, paid holidays during the school year, professional development opportunities, and tuition remission for staff children enrolled in The Wesley School.
