Staff Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith for Teachers The Wesley School

As a member of the faculty at The Wesley School, I affirm my commitment to the Christian faith and agree to uphold the values, teachings, and mission of the Christian community as they are reflected in the life of this school. By signing this statement, I pledge to live a life that models the love and grace of Jesus Christ in my personal life, relationships with students, and interactions with colleagues.

1. Faith in God I believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I affirm that God is the source of all truth, love, and wisdom, and I strive to reflect His character in my life and work.

2. Jesus Christ I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world to teach, heal, and ultimately provide salvation through His death, resurrection, and ascension. I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, and I seek to live in accordance with His example of love, compassion, and service to others.

3. The Holy Spirit I believe in the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to live lives that reflect God’s love and to carry out His mission of reconciliation and justice in the world. I recognize the Holy Spirit’s work in guiding me, equipping me to teach, and helping me to nurture the spiritual growth of my students.

4. The Bible I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and contains the essential teachings for faith and practice. I agree to encourage students to study and live according to the principles of Scripture, guiding them toward a deeper relationship with God.

5. The Church I believe in the Church (any Christian denomination with which I align with) as the body of Christ, and I affirm the role of the local church including MHLMUMC, in nurturing the faith of individuals and the community. As a member of this school, I commit to supporting and encouraging students and their families in their participation in the life of the Church.

6. Christian Education I believe that Christian education is an essential tool for developing the whole person—spirit, mind, and body. I am committed to helping students grow in their knowledge of God, fostering a Christ-centered environment that encourages academic excellence, moral integrity, and a heart for service.

7. Service and Mission I believe in the call of every Christian to serve others in love and humility. I commit to supporting the mission of The Wesley School, which includes nurturing students to become thoughtful, compassionate, and active citizens who make a positive impact on the world, both locally and globally.

8. Statement of Conduct as a teacher at The Wesley School, I pledge to uphold the moral and ethical standards as a Christian in my professional conduct. I will demonstrate integrity, respect, compassion, and fairness in all my interactions with students, parents, and colleagues. I will also

seek to model a life of personal holiness and humility, recognizing that my role as a teacher is to serve both God and others.
